What advice would you give a new rep for being successful at Paycom?

Aaron

  • Don’t think … just do. Whether it’s distributing drops, making that extra call or putting yourself in an uncomfortable situation; whatever it may be, you need to do it!
  • Be mentally strong! If it helps you, put a rubber bandaround your wrist and snap yourself every time you think a negative thought! Negativity will only bring your morale down.
  • Put yourself in uncomfortable situations every day. Are you putting something off? Do that tough thing (hard conversations, deliver bad news, etc.) first in your daily routine.

What is your Paycom story?

I came from an international logistics company working 14-plus hours a day at $14 an hour. I needed to have a career that I was in control of and would directly compensate my work ethic. The objectives and goals set up by Paycom’s compensation structure were the best things that could have ever happened to me. Ever since I joined Paycom, I have not looked back. I try to be a sponge and work my tail off to get better every day.

How does your position impact Paycom’s future?

I think the manager’s role within Paycom is crucial. We meet with a lot of companies and we are able to grow the company daily by making a great first impression on everyone we come in contact with.Aaron
