Employee Spotlight: Meet Brandon

This month’s employee spotlight is a Paycom Specialist out of our Oklahoma City corporate office. Brandon is originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated with his bachelor’s from the University of Central Oklahoma and received his Master’s from Mid-America Christian University. Brandon joined the Paycom Specialist team in August 2010.

When asked what his greatest accomplishments are, Brandon said, “One of my biggest accomplishments is definitely the relationships I’ve developed with my clients and co-workers. They are like an extended family. It’s nice to come to work and push each other to our greatest potential. Another accomplishment would be my recent promotion to a team lead. I look forward to taking on this leadership role and the growth I’ll experience from it. Setting specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely (SMART) goals has always been a way for me to stay motivated to accomplish bigger and better things. Plus, Paycom’s work environment challenges me and my team to set the bar high and then to exceed every expectation.”

What does a Paycom specialist do?

A Paycom specialist offers guidance and ensures the client has what they need to successfully run their business. We are the face of Paycom in a sense, because we are a client’s one point of contact. As a whole, we provide the best solutions to our clients every day; there’s not a question we can’t answer. Paycom Specialist Department (PSD) is a great team to be in, because we really do work as a team and our leaders empower us to conquer each day with a positive attitude.

What advice would you give a new specialist for being successful at Paycom?

A positive attitude is the start of being successful at Paycom. Walking in with the right attitude can go a long way. Personally, motivation is what keeps me going, but creating good habits is the ultimate objective to being successful here. Set goals and make them happen; don’t let obstacles alter your pace or creativity. Bring it all to the table.

What is your favorite “Paycom Perk”?

Opportunity, because it’s truly endless at Paycom!

What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of work?

Exercising by running is one of my favorite hobbies. It allows me to stay focused and keep a sound mind.

Who would play you in a movie about your life, and why?

Mike Epps. I’m a comedian in my daily life, and he could put a smile on people’s faces, like I try to do in my day-to-day interactions. Plus, you can watch comedy movies over and over, and laugh every time.

Do you have any pets?

No, but I would love to have a bulldog.

Where is your favorite place to travel, and why?

I enjoy going home to Tulsa. Visiting my friends and family is extremely important to me, because I never want to forget where I came from. Plus, it’s always great to be surrounded by the people who influence you the most.
